Pengurus DPD SPRI Provinsi Sumut periode 2023 -2028 yang dilantik berdasarkan Surat Keputusan DPP SPRI bakal segera melalukan konsolidasi organisasi ke seluruh Kota dan Kabupaten se Sumut. “Kita akan segera menyusun program peningkatan kualitas wartawan dan melaksanakan kegiatan sosial yang menyentuh langsung masyarakat,” ujar Burju saat memberi sambutan di sela acara pelantikan. Sementara Ketua Umum DPP SPRI Hence Mandagi dalam sambutannya, cukup banyak memberi masukan terkait tindaklanjut pembahasan potensi belanja iklan menjadi sumber Pendapat Asli Daerah atau PAD dari pajak iklan media. “Selama ini ratusan triliun belanja iklan nasional atau biaya promosi barang dan jasa produk perusahaan nasional melalui media massa hanya dinikmati oleh segelintir konglomerat media. Perlu ada regulasi yang mengatur agar pajak media dari belanja iklan bisa jadi PAD bagi pemerintah Provinsi,” papar Mandagi. Hal itu, menurut Mandagi, harus diperjuangkan agar media lokal bisa hidup dan berkembang karena memiliki sumber penghasilan dari iklan yang terdiatribusi merata di setiap daerah. “Sekarang ini kan hanya dimonopoli oleh media arus utama nasional. Bagaimana wartawan di daerah bisa sejahtera dan independen jika sumber utama penghasilan dari iklan tidak ada. Padah ada potensi biaa diraih jika pemda membuat regulasinya,” terang Mandagi yang juga menjabat Ketua LSP Pers Indonesia. Mandagi juga mendorong, pengurus DPD SPRI Sumut dapat berperan aktif dalam peningkatan kesejahteraan dan kualitas wartawan. “Naskah akademis tentang potensi PAD dari belanja iklan harus segera disusun. Karena SPRI Sumut pernah menggelar diskusi media tentang hal itu. Harus ada tindaklanjutnya,” imbuhnya. (SMS/L).
